Geoff Hannan, Educationalist and diversity campaigner and author of the bestselling book “Improving Boys Performance” led the recent Trust PD Day at Short Wood Primary School in Wellington.
Geoff led an inspirational training session focussing on Five Key Teaching and Learning Strategies for closing attainment gaps for disadvantaged pupils, examining ways to overcome the issues that prevent disadvantaged pupils from making progress alongside that of their peers. Staff enjoyed the collaborative working alongside an excellent motivational speaker.
Teams from the Severn Bridges schools travelled to Short Wood Primary School in Wellington,. The Trust minibus fleet assembled at the school for the Trust PD day morning. The six schools enjoyed the practical training session next to the impressive lakeside vista seen from Short Wood`s hall.
Short Wood Primary School is set to join the MAT early in the New Year.
