Join Our MAT – A Great Opportunity

Severn Bridges Multi-Academy Trust offers a unique and compelling opportunity for schools seeking a collaborative and supportive environment dedicated to excellence in education. We are driven by a clear vision: to empower our pupils and staff to thrive.

For Your Pupils:

Our Trust is committed to providing an outstanding education through a network of high-quality, collaborative schools. Our five “Good” rated schools work closely together, sharing best practices, resources, and innovative approaches to enhance outcomes for every child. We foster a nurturing learning environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their full academic potential and develop into a well-rounded individual, equipped for future success. Our curriculum is both innovative and holistic, designed to challenge our children to excel in both academic and non-academic pursuits. We also offer a wealth of opportunities for inter-school interaction, including a range of competitions spanning sports, arts, technology, and academics, such as our popular Champions League and Maths Challenge events. These events provide a friendly and competitive platform for our pupils to connect and build lasting relationships.

For Your Staff:

We are a genuinely collaborative MAT, where staff at all levels are valued and empowered. We actively promote professional growth and development through planned opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and career advancement. Our Head Teachers work closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO, fostering a shared educational philosophy and collaborative problem-solving. Our MAT school improvement teams facilitate termly meetings for subject coordinators, enabling them to collectively develop curriculum resources, policies, and strategies. We are committed to the career development of all our staff through our innovative Career Bridges structure and provide clear pathways for succession planning and advancement across the MAT. At Severn Bridges, you’ll find a strong, shared ethos built on mutual support and a commitment to working together.

Our Governance:

We believe in empowering our schools. While providing robust oversight and management, our governance structure is designed to foster innovation and autonomy at the school level. Each school benefits from a thriving Local Governing Body, whose input is highly valued by our Trustees. Schools maintain their unique identities while aligning with our shared values and vision for our children. Our Trust Board, informed by the input of school governors and Trustees, develops a strategic plan for the entire Trust. We maintain agile and sharply focused financial reporting, supported by external accountancy to ensure the highest levels of financial probity. Our clear Scheme of Delegation and lines of accountability provide a stable and secure foundation for future growth. We also foster strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including the Regional Commissioner for Schools, the Regional Delivery Directorate, the Local Authority, and neighbouring MATs. Risk mitigation and management are a priority, with robust strategies embedded throughout the Trust, from the Board to individual school Health and Safety committees.

Our Central Team:

Our lean and efficient Central Team provides dedicated support to our schools, ensuring smooth operations and enabling them to focus on delivering exceptional education. Our CFO, a fully qualified accountant, oversees a robust finance and reporting system, with support from external audit and quality assurance. The CFO is supported by the Trust Business Manager and well-trained School Business Managers, who utilise the agile and responsive Xero financial software system. The Central Team delivers essential finance, HR, and operations services to our schools. School improvement is driven by our highly experienced Deputy CEO, who brings a wealth of knowledge in Shropshire headship and external quality assurance, fostering a strong culture of continuous improvement across our Trust. We also leverage economies of scale across the Trust to maximize the spending power of each school, ensuring that resources are used effectively to benefit our pupils.
